Mulberry Bear is Back!!!

A huge big thank you to everyone for their support over the past year since the website was offline.  Much has happened in that time, but we are pleased to say that the site is back up and running, and we hope that you will be pleased with the improvements we will be making over the next while! 

The site had to shut down last year as our little six year old daughter, Sarah, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in August '08.  The Doctors initially said that we could expect maybe another 2-3 months with her, but after chemo and radiotherapy, we managed to extend this to 10 months.  Sadly, she passed away on 20th June 2009. However, as a family we made the most of those ten months and tried to fit in as much as we could, including trips to Lapland to meet Santa, a visit to Disneyland Paris and a stay in a real Scottish Castle which was a special treat from the Make-a-wish Charity, where both she and her sisters Josie and Katie were dressed up and treated like proper little princesses (complete with horse and carriage)!

Eventually we will set up a page dedicated to our very own little "Sarah Bear", and it will include things that were special to her.  Lets just say that it will feature (amongst other things!)- bunnies, her big dog "Mucky Pup" and her favourite character, Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz.  Now, where did I put my red glitter for those all important ruby slippers...!?!

We are in the process of taking lots of pictures of Mulberry Bear and his new adventures for both the Gallery and the site in general, as well as creating some new tear bear characters for you to follow.  Please keep checking back regularly, as we will be adding the images in the next few weeks...

In terms of the shop, we are getting ready to start listing our items.  Hopefully this will be done soon so that you can once again buy the supplies in the UK to start making your own little tear bears- I know these are still quite hard to find in the UK.

Hi again!

Apologies to all for the delay in getting my new Mulberry Bear Kits listed in our shop...  I've recently started back work again after a full years Maternity Leave, so as you can imagine, things have been pretty hectic around here what with three daughters aged seven years and under, a husband and a Golden Retriever to keep track of...!

However, I am please to announce that I have managed to find a supplier of Sakura 005 fine tipped black pens which are safe for scrapbooking and archival work, are non-fading and also waterproof- ideal for drawing the faces on your little cuties, due to their tiny tip...  I'm listing these in the shop now...!

I have also managed to get hold of the Quickutz "Star" upper case letters, so I can make little personalised bears for you- just let me know what initial you require.  See the shop for more details of our new little Mulberry Alphabears...coming soon!

Hi there!

Just to let you know that we've now listed the Pirate-themed Mulberry in our shop.   What do you think?   My daughters think he looks great, but that there should be a version for girls..!   (I'm sure a Pink one could be made, if requested!)   Anyway, I hope you like him.

We've also been busy making up the main kits, which are now ready for dispatch.   You'll notice that we've also listed a Guide to making your own little Mulberries- in this you'll find out how to use the same tools and accessories we use to get our bears looking really fluffy!!!   This comes included in the main kit, but you can buy it on its own for £2.50.   The main kit is better value than buying all the supplies separately, and it allows you to make four full size bears as well as four peekaboo style bears in the four different colours.

Realising that you're a crafty lot out there, we've decided to list sheets of plain mulberry paper for you to buy, as we're sure that you all have your own ideas that you want to try out!   Keep checking back soon , as we plan to expand our range of mulberry papers to include different colours and not just browns/creams...

Hi there!   Just to let everyone know that we are now open for business!!!   Hoorah...!   However, we still have soooo much more to list and I'm enjoying making up new kits for you to try out.   I'm just about to start work on the "Ahoy There!" Pirate Mulberry.   Complete with Pirate Galleon, Pirate Hat and Eyepatch...   Wait 'til you see him- he is so cute!   I'm sure he'll be great on kids' cards and scrapbook pages...

I asked my daughter, Josie (6)   how she would like "Josie Bear" to appear in her first kit that we made for the online shop.   Being such a girlie girl, she immediately said, as a Fairy Princess (suprise, suprise!).   I hope you like the Fairy Peekaboo Bear that we came up with in the shop- I've promised her that she will feature as a full size bear, complete with wings, soon...   so keep a look out for that one!

Sarah, my four-year old on the other hand, has decided that she would like little "Sarah Bear" to be dressed as a Witch for her first online Kit (as you can tell, Sarah is not quite so girlie!!!).   She would like a Witches Hat a Broomstick and a Cauldron featured with her Bear (yes indeed, Sarah knows what she likes...!)

"Katie Bear" is an easier one to make up ideas for, as she's only eleven months old just now, so she's not so demanding (yet!).  Give her time...

Anyway, Mulberry himself will be getting "dressed" in various guises and for various events soon, so keep checking back to see what both he and his "sisters" are getting up to.  PLEASE, please, please let us know if you would like us to make up a specific bear for you- we will do all we can to help...!
